The Production of Streptomyces W-5B Extract for Antibiofilm against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

چکیده

The ability of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) to form biofilms is one the triggering factors for emergence MRSA resistance antibiotics. Streptomyces W-5B has shown potency as an antibacterial producer against MRSA. However, production microbial bioactive compounds strongly affected by source nutrients in fermentation medium. Therefore, objective this study was determine optimal sources carbon and nitrogen with antibiofilm activities. research method included cultivating W-5B, extract production, variation (glucose, sucrose, starch) (casein, peptone, urea) Antibiofilm activities were measured based on inhibition biofilm formation degradation tests using microtiter plate a crystal violet stain. results showed that highest 68.206 ± 1.750% after 12 days incubation medium containing sucrose urea. Meanwhile, 73.023 1.972% nine starch These findings indicated produce

Histones from Avian Erythrocytes Exhibit Antibiofilm activity against methicillin-sensitive and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus, a human pathogen associated with many illnesses and post-surgical infections, can resist treatment due to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains and through biofilm formation. The current treatments for chronic biofilm infections are antibiotics and/or surgical removal of the contaminated medical device. Due to higher morbidity and mortality rates associated with o...

Coral-Associated Bacteria as a Promising Antibiofilm Agent against Methicillin-Resistant and -Susceptible Staphylococcus aureus Biofilms

The current study deals with the evaluation of two coral-associated bacterial (CAB) extracts to inhibit the biofilm synthesis in vitro as well as the virulence production like hemolysin and exopolysaccharide (EPS), and also to assess their ability to modify the adhesion properties, that is cell surface hydrophobicity (CSH) of methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and -susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (...

In-vitro and In-vivo Evaluation of Silymarin Nanoliposomes against Isolated Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen and remains a common cause of burn wound infections. Different studies have shown that entrapment of plant-derived compounds into liposomes could increase their anti-Staphylococcus aureus activity. Silymarin is the bioactive extract from the known plant Silybum marianum L. The objective of this study was to evaluate efficacy of silymarin in fre...

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Etiology Staphylococcus aureus is a Gram positive, coagulase positive coccus in the family Staphylococcaceae. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains are resistant to methicillin and essentially all other beta-lactam antibiotics. MRSA isolates are genetically heterogeneous. 1 Some strains, which are called epidemic strains; are more prevalent and can spread within or between hospitals an...

Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen often carried asymptomatically on the human body. Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains have acquired a gene that makes them resistant to all beta-lactam antibiotics. Hospital-associated strains of this organism are serious nosocomial pathogens that have become resistant to most common antibiotics, and treatment can be challenging. Com...
